Position SummaryAs the Soccer Lead at Bold Charter School, you will ensure that every student experiences a learning environment that inspires a commitment to health and fitness and instills values of team, respect, humility, and passion. As Bold grows, and builds toward middle school, you will have the opportunity to design a soccer and athletics program that inspires a love of learning and equips each student to succeed in school and thrive in life. You will be part of a results-oriented and collaborative team of professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of educational excellence. You will receive regular coaching and feedback, and will have opportunities to grow into a master teacher and transformative leader within the organization.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Contributing to a school culture that inspires a love of athletics and a personal commitment to fitness and wellness
  • Teaching through a variety of instructional methods and activities that inspire intellectual curiosity and develop critical thinking
  • Engaging students in movement activities that support the development of a healthy and active lifestyle; developing opportunities for students to participate in activities outside the classroom (recess, after school, school break programs, etc.)
  • Collaborating with leadership to manage logistics for all soccer programming, including scheduling, facilities, health and safety, supervision, budget, and transportation
  • Developing a strategy to grow the soccer program, introducing opportunities for more formal team and league play
  • Modeling Bold's core values and building a positive student and team culture across the school
  • Training with colleagues and school leaders, which includes regularly implementing feedback with grace and urgency in service of student achievement, a values-based school culture, and a positive, professional work environment
  • Developing strong relationships with families and students, including regular communication that creates high levels of investment in school culture and academics
  • Demonstrating a mission-first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in ensuring that all students excel
Successful candidates should:
  • Be passionate about learning, health, and fitness
  • Have experience teaching, coaching, or managing soccer programs in a K-12 setting, with a proven track record of success in the areas of health, sports, and athletics
  • Be a person of high moral character
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to and alignment with the mission, beliefs, and values of Bold
  • Hold an unwavering belief in the potential that all students can learn paired with an unshakeable conviction to ensure all students will learn
  • Have leadership experience with quantifiable results of success
  • Have the ability to work within a fast-paced and dynamic team environment where responsibility for student success is shared and owned by everyone
  • Hold a commitment to solutions-based problem solving and previous experience of such
  • Hold a valid NYS teaching certification (preferred, but not required)
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership
Start DateThe start date for this position is flexible. CompensationBold Charter School offers highly competitive compensation, in the top range of comparable positions across New York City charter schools.
