WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As Social Media Coordinator, you will manage, optimize, and analyze our social media presence, creating meaningful connections with our audiences and establishing 43North's voice as a leader in innovation and startup growth. You will work collaboratively to ensure our content is impactful, engaging, and aligned with our brand objectives, strategically assessing which platforms best serve our mission and audiences.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Social Media Execution: Implement and execute the day-to-day social media strategy across all channels, including but not limited to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X (Twitter), and TikTok.
- Content Optimization: Work with content creators to optimize posts for audience engagement and maximize reach through best practices for each platform, including multimedia content, SEO tactics, hashtags, and posting schedules.
- Engagement & Community Management: We actively engage with our followers, responding to comments and messages and fostering a community of startup founders, investors, and partners.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay current on social media trends, tools, and platform changes, and bring new ideas to the team for relevant and timely content.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics; provide actionable insights to enhance future posts and strategy.
- Platform Assessment: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of each social channel and recommend adjustments or new platforms that align with 43North's brand and goals.
- Collaborative Content Development: Work closely with internal teams and content creators to develop a cohesive voice and ensure that all content aligns with 43North's branding and mission. Ability to create or concept vertical content, appearing on camera, in-app editing, as well as identifying and implementing of trends.
- Scheduling and Content Calendar Management: Manage a social media calendar coordinating 43North's events, campaigns, and announcements.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Eagerness to live and work locally in Buffalo, NY, with a passion for the city itself and progress being made.
- Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to internal and external needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience in social media coordination, content creation, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and tools (such as Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Later).
- Excellent communication and writing skills with a love for grammar and proper punctuation and a passion for storytelling.
- Proficiency with social media analytics and tools to track engagement metrics.
- Creative mindset with the ability to adapt brand tone across platforms.
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, Capcut, In-App Editing) is a plus.
- Team player with a proactive mindset, exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- A passion for venture, startups, etc. is ideal but not required.

- Salary range: $55,000-$60,000
