Job Description:
The Social Media Intern contributes to Okayplayer by working a hybrid remote schedule which involves working from our office two days a week and traveling throughout NYC on the other days to capture and curate original content.The Social Media Intern will work closely with our Head of Newsletter & Special Projects and the Director of Audience Development. Your mission will be to grow Okayplayer's NYC Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter with engaging and authentic content that showcases NYC culture through an Okayplayer lens.
  • Develop and execute social media strategies to increase engagement and followers on Okayplayer's Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Travel throughout NYC to capture and create original content, including images, reels, and stories, showcasing the best places to eat, things to do, places to see, and unique experiences in NYC.
  • Use your phone and Canva to produce high-quality visuals and engaging content.
  • Collaborate with the Okayplayer team to align content with brand voice and goals.
  • Monitor social media trends and incorporate them into Okayplayer's content strategy.
  • Analyze social media performance and provide insights for continuous improvement.
Qualifications;
  • Passion for NYC culture, music, and community.
  • Proficient in using social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) and content creation tools like Canva.
  • Strong photography and videography skills using a smartphone.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to produce engaging and original content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate travel within NYC.
  • Must be able to work in NYC and come to the office two days a week.

  • Required to work a minimum 25 hours during weekdays, with some nights and weekends
Areya Media, Inc. offers the following total compensation package:
  • 25 Hours per Week at $16/hour
  • Travel Stipend (monthly MTA pass - $132)
  • Paid holidays and sick leave
