The right Social Media Manager checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.The Social Media Manager enhances The Dollywood Company's marketing efforts by guiding the social media team as they create accurate and relevant content for multiple social media formats. The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing innovative strategies within The Dollywood Company's owned social media channels to advance the brand, while also creating plans to monitor and respond to community conversations in various groups across social channels. The Social Media Manager will lead day-to-day operation of all aspects of social media including, but not limited to, social listening, posting, photography, videography and analytics. The Social Media Manager will guide and collaborate with the Social Media Engagement Specialist to create compelling content for all owned channels. The Social Media Manager also will guide and collaborate with the Influencer Marketing Specialist for creating a plan for hosting social media influencers at company properties. The Social Media Manager must also manage Guest Correspondence Coordinators responsible for managing community conversations on various company social media channels. The Social Media Manager also is responsible for fostering growth of social media team member talent, including content creation, strategy development and leadership skills.Education and Experience Required
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum of five years of experience managing social media/digital marketing efforts
  • Experience in monitoring and responding in online social media community pages required
  • Proven experience and track record of effectively communicating information and ideas in written format, specifically as it relates to blogs, social media postings, and website content
  • Working experience of creating SEO content
  • Demonstration of strong editing skills
  • Proven track record of managing and implementing plans to garner social media coverage
  • Experience in the theme park, hospitality and/or tourism industry preferred
  • Experience with graphic design and related software preferred
  • Experience with video editing preferred
  • Proven experience with common office software such as Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
  • Must be able to obtain a TN driver's license and state required auto insurance

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Use discretion while serving as marketing team subject matter expert on social media presence and content creation.
  • Create and implement long-term and day-to-day social content strategies that support marketing team efforts across owned social media channels.
  • Use social media tools to cultivate relationships with existing fans and reach new audiences across various platforms to increase brand awareness, engagement and brand advocacy.
  • Edits social media content created by Social Media Engagement Specialist.
  • With the Social Media Engagement Specialist, guides development of editorial calendars for social content in the appropriate brand voice.
  • Understanding of photography/videography and appropriate editing techniques.
  • Manage team responsible for online discussion on Dollywood-owned social media channels and report key trends and insights to management.
  • Manage social media monitoring calendars for maximum team coverage. Lead monitoring team to engage in social conversation and influence community opinion in a favorable manner.
  • Analyze opportunities, emerging trends and social media tools and software, and make recommendations for the social media program.
  • Monitor news/social media trends to maintain a solid grasp of relevancy as it relates to The Dollywood Company, the theme park/amusement and hospitality industries and the community (local, regional and global).
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the Dollywood Company and Dolly Parton brands, to formulate internal and external written and video communications that position the Dollywood Company experience as unique, authentic and one-of-a-kind.
Other
  • When needed, facilitate site visits at all properties for members of the media, including print, broadcast and digital.
  • Identify ways to increase awareness of the Dollywood brand across social, digital and traditional media story placement through videos, photos, comments and more.
  • As a public face of The Dollywood Company, promote the various properties in a number of settings.
  • Support the Dollywood Marketing plan by being a dedicated team player, approaching tasks with an open mind, embracing creative thinking, and respecting the ideas of other team members.
  • Assist as needed with major PR publicity events including, but not limited to, product announcements, Dolly Parton appearances, park openings, media endearment events, industry events, media production/on-site photo/video shoots.
