Social Media and Marketing ManagerCompany Overview Old Glory DC, the professional men's rugby team, competes against 10 other North American teams in Major League Rugby. Along with our youth development non-profit, Young Glory, OGDC is committed to developing rugby talent in the Mid-Atlantic region and growing fandom. Position Overview THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION THAT REQUIRES WEEKLY TRAVEL TO WASHINGTON, DC AND LOCATIONS IN GAITHERSBURG, MD AND SPRINGFIELD, VA AS NEEDEDThe Social Media and Marketing Manager is part of our vision to pioneer the future of sports and entertainment.This role will focus on developing, creating, publishing and analyzing digital content performance for Old Glory DC of Major League Rugby and supervising interns working on content for Young Glory. The position will help tell a brand story and grow key audiences through the strategic use of social media platforms, websites, mobile and print applications, and in-market activations. This is a highly collaborative role that will work across all revenue and brand areas to determine how best to apply content themes and stories to support the business.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, create and publish social media content designed to engage, increase brand affinity and drive growth across OGDC social media channels including X, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, BlueSky and LinkedIn. Craft and publish copy across social media, web and mobile platforms that tells a brand story and supports connected marketing and PR campaigns. Maintain an active presence across all social media channels and actively monitor fan feedback.Manage a content publishing calendar that organizes planned and emerging initiatives, that is accountable and shareable to other teammates. Monitor and report on content performance weekly to further guide content strategy as well as inform various areas of the business of fan/customer sentiment and audience analysis.Develop and activate content plans around live events including OGDC's 8 regular season matches and playoff matches, community activations and player practices as necessary. Hire and manage game day photographers and videographer Regularly engages with players, Coaches, Rugby Operations staff, broadcasters, alumni, and other key contributors to content initiativesCollaborate on multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive ticket and merchandise sales, event attendance, and youth program registrationsWork with leadership to align marketing efforts with brand goalsSupport sponsorship activations by developing co-branded content and ensuring sponsor deliverables are met.Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of experience working in digital marketing; experience in a high-performing marketing organization or sports and entertainment organization is a plus. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required. A strong advocate for process and project management Experience managing social media channels within the sports and entertainment industry. Demonstrable working knowledge of the latest social media/online culture, jargon and technical features. Digital publishing/CMS experience and basic HTML knowledge. Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
