Auburn Advancement is excited to begin the search for a Social Media Specialist to join our Communications & Marketing team! This position is vital in promoting cohesive and impactful communication across the university's social media platforms, ensuring that all content aligns with institutional values, enhances the university's reputation, and supports its strategic priorities.
What You'll Do:
The Social Media Specialist plays a key role in enhancing the university's digital presence by managing creative and technical aspects of social media. This position ensures consistent and strategic messaging across all platforms, fostering engagement and loyalty among diverse audiences.
* Creating Content and Engaging Audience: The Social Media Specialist develops and maintains a monthly content calendar, assists in creating and scheduling posts, and monitors audience engagement across platforms to ensure timely and effective communication.
* Integrating Strategies and Collaborating Across Campus: They support the execution of social media strategies aligned with university goals, collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to identify and prioritize effective storytelling opportunities, and integrate social media campaigns into university-wide initiatives to ensure consistent messaging.
* Analyzing Performance and Monitoring Trends: The Specialist tracks and analyzes social media performance using analytics tools, prepares monthly reports for each platform, and maintains an updated social media trends guide with proactive recommendations for improving digital engagement.
* Managing Advertising and Campaigns: They assist in planning and executing social media advertising campaigns, set up targeted ads, and analyze ad performance to optimize results. These efforts are aligned with the university's brand strategy and audience insights to enhance the institution's online presence.

Essential Functions
* Purpose - The Social Media Specialist supports the execution of social media strategies and tactics to build brand loyalty across multiple platforms. They ensure alignment with targets, timelines, and techniques to promote consistent and strategic messaging that reflects the university's mission.
* Collaboration - They work closely with the university's central marketing and communications office, faculty, staff, students, and alumni to identify and prioritize storytelling opportunities that resonate with diverse audiences. Additionally, they assist in integrating social media campaigns into university-wide initiatives and communication strategies.
* Innovation - By maintaining an updated social media trends guide, the Specialist provides proactive recommendations across campus to enhance digital engagement. They stay informed about platform trends, industry news, and best practices to ensure the university remains competitive and innovative in its social media presence.
* Production -The Specialist is the primary creator for all technical elements of social media, including content creation, maintaining a monthly content calendar, and monitoring audience engagement. They also manage social media advertising campaigns, including setting up ads, targeting audiences, and analyzing/optimizing performance. Furthermore, they track social media metrics using analytics tools and prepare performance reports.
