Position Overview:
The Motion Designer at Legion Creative plays a vital role in delivering innovative and high-quality motion graphics for our entertainment and brand clients.
Working closely with the Creative Director and Art Directors, Legion Motion Designers craft visually engaging motion graphics across multiple genres, styles and platforms while striving for creative excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Concept and Design Development:
- Ideate, Design and pitch creative ideas
- Help the creative team solve problems creatively through motion design.
- Present cutting edge motion graphics for entertainment and brand concepts.
- Provide insights in internal meetings, ensuring productive and goal-oriented solutions.
- Elevate the established design aesthetic with the ability to execute inspiring motion graphics and sound design.
Creative Production:
- Maintain a commercial mindset, balancing high creative standards with efficient production.
- Communicate directly with producers and manage deadlines/expectations accordingly and flag potential issues that could impact project timelines.
- Balance multiple project deadlines simultaneously while managing time effectively
- Work closely with the creative team to identify and address any resource constraints or conflicts.
- Take ownership of deliverables, maintaining quality control across all client projects.
- Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and build out motion elements for pitch decks
Collaboration:
- Coordinate closely with the creative team, effectively communicating and implementing client feedback across multiple projects.
- Work closely with production and strategy teams across the agency to ensure alignment and integration of campaign elements into motion.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across creative team disciplines.
Brainstorm and Ideation:
- Actively participate in internal brainstorming sessions, contributing fresh ideas that align with client goals and campaign objectives.
- Research trends, audience insights, and competitive benchmarks to bring informed perspectives to creative discussions.
Culture:
- Champion the Legion culture, contributing to a positive, collaborative environment.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in motion design to drive innovation.
- Lead by example, ensuring new hires understand the agency's proactive culture.
- Drive internal conversations around new design trends and motion graphics innovations, ensuring the team stays ahead of the curve.
Qualifications:
- An experienced creative portfolio with motion graphics for entertainment and brands.
- Bachelor's degree in design, multimedia design, motion design or a related field.
- 3-5 years of agency experience, with a focus on social and digital marketing.
- Advanced proficiency of animation, compositing, video editing and production design within After Effects, Premiere, Cinema 4D, Photoshop and similar software.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and 3D software experience are a plus.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital advertising, and integrated marketing strategies.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Trello, Frame.io, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from senior team members.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with social and digital marketing campaigns.
- Current understanding of all social media platforms.
- Knowledge of emerging digital trends and technologies including AR,VR,AI.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
