The Salvation Army Midland Division Corps located at 1124 Wall Street, in Jacksonville, Illinois seeks a Social Services Coordinator. This position will be responsible for providing the case management service to clients of The Salvation Army. This is a full-time position 35 hours per week with starting minimum pay of $20.00 per hour.Essential Functions
Oversee and coordinate daily feeding program.Interview clients to establish and verify individual needs. Administer funds as available to individuals and/or families requesting emergency assistance.Create, implement, and follow up on client case plans.Establish and maintain knowledge of available resources in all service areas. Provide information and referral services to individuals and/or families, assisting them in understanding the resources available to them.Act as a liaison between individuals and/or families, The Salvation Army, and community agencies.Distribute food baskets, clothing, furniture, gasoline, emergency prescriptions, and lodging vouchers based on individual need and availability of resources.Dispense rent or utility assistance as funds are available.Maintain accurate recording of monthly expenses.Maintain accurate and complete client files, reports, progress notes, incident reports, and all other required documentation in accordance with The Salvation Army's record retention schedule.Schedule, direct, and supervise volunteers.Oversee and coordinate monthly Veterans Program.Facilitate client application process for seasonal, special assistance, and community programs.Identify resources available within Salvation Army service areas. Update and maintain community resource guide that provides information and referral services regarding area resources.Provide assistance for warming/cooling station.Assist in the delivery/unloading of food donations and/or purchases.Attend all scheduled meetings, Social Services events, and required trainings.*Full job description can be reviewed upon interview.Minimum Qualifications Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or related field.Experience: One (1) year of experience working in social services field.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

- Read, write, and communicate in English to be able to perform job responsibilities.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License to operate Corps vehicles.
- Must pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check.
- Successfully complete Safe from Harm training as established by The Salvation Army.
- Must complete Bloodborne Pathogens training within 10 days of hire.
- Must provide evidence of Illinois DCFS Mandated Reporter certification or complete certification course within 30 days of hire.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry 25lbs, lifting up to 50lbs occasionally. Will occasionally move 50lbs or more using dolly/cart/truck.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, stretch, and climb.
