Hutchings Psychiatric Center is recruiting for Social Work Assistant 1 to provide case management and service coordination activities for individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they have a bachelor's degree in a human service field and 1 year of social work experience. Substitution: Master's degree in social work can substitute for 1 year of specialized experience. Duties Description As a Social Work Assistant 1 at Manhattan Psychiatric Center, you will work with an interdisciplinary team and duties will include: •Interviewing individuals and their families to gather background information •Preparing case histories and determining eligibility for services •Advocating and assisting individuals in identifying and obtaining services NOTE: 1. In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program).
