Overview

Develop and manages social work programs, including managing assigned staff, teams and committees in accordance with the Hospital mission, business plan and the departmental goals and objectives. Prepare, control and monitor the department budget. Develop and implement new programs to meet the needs of the Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient/family served by the Hospital network. Collaborate with the Director to identify and plan for long range goals. Establish program goals and objectives and clinical standards of social work practice for the department in accordance with departmental and hospital objectives, professional standards of practice, state licensing and national accreditation requirements. Interface and collaborate with other Hospital staff including managers, medical chiefs of service, and community organizations. Report to the Director.

Responsibilities
* 1. Fiscal Criteria
* 1.1 Collaborate with the Director to develop departmental budgets that meets the needs of the Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patient/family/populations.

* 3.1 Complete all performance reviews on time.

* 4.1 Motivate, inspire, and develop staff to meet the needs of the Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient/family populations.
* 5. Planning, Organizing, Prioritizing, Program Development
* 5.1 Develop key operational performance and productivity targets.
* 6. Community Involvement
* 6.1 Serve as a liaison with community and government agencies.
* 7. Professional Development
* 7.1 Maintain and enhance knowledge of growth and development of the Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations through educational opportunities and meet expectations set forth by Hospital and departmental standards.
* 8. Accountability
* 8.1 Accountable for following Hospital policy and procedures, NASW Code of Ethics, and any other hospital, governmental and/or regulatory policies, rules or regulations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited School of Social Work in a clinical and health care administration sequence. Membership in good standing with NASW and/or Academy of Certified Social Workers. Eligible for Connecticut Independent Social Work Certification. License for social work practice in state of origin.
EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years experience in health care with a minimum of three (3) years administrative/supervisory experience.
LICENSURE
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the State of Connecticut; or those holding licenses from other states, will need an endorsement and meet the State of Connecticut license requirements. Required maintaining license in good standing.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Demonstrated ability to direct, supervise, manage, instruct and collaborate with patient care and social service clinicians from a variety of disciplines. Familiarity with health care and social work needs of the urban poor.
