A community services organization in New York City is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff in Brooklyn as a Supervisor. Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Supervisor will be responsible for providing professional intervention services to clients currently homeless or at risk of homelessness. About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (1-hour lunch)
Responsibilities:The Supervisor will:
- Provide individual and team supervision
- Onboard staff including new staff program orientation and training
- Monitor staff performance; conduct performance appraisals
- Assure household financial assistance funds are utilized according to standards
- Perform tasks related to crisis intervention; review, prepare and investigate participant incidents and complete related reports
- Recruit staff by screening resumes, conduct screenings and interviews of candidates
- Participate in program, agency and/or community activities as assigned
- Ensure staff complete all documentation within mandated time frames
- Provide, arrange and conduct staff training in all areas including policies and procedures; and contribute to staff professional development
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in providing direct services to homeless individuals / families or at-risk populations
- Bachelor's Degree
- Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of Supervisory and/or Managerial experience for a Social Services program
- Master's Degree in Social Work and/or a related field
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience in Housing and Public Benefits
