Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists as well as other social workers in caring for psychiatric/behavioral health patient population. You will provide evidence-based multimodal treatment with an emphasis on managing symptoms, preventing relapse and assisting patients achieving their highest potential for meaningful community living.As a Social Worker, you will provide direct clinical services to patients and families and support network that include but not limited to individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, family and couple's treatment and initial comprehensive assessments. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work across the continuum of care throughout Ambulatory Services which may include the Adult Outpatient Clinic, Child & Adolescent Outpatient Clinic, Partial Hospitalization Program and Continuing Day Treatment. Here, you'll experience all the reasons why you entered such a rewarding field.This is a per diem day shift position at NewYork Presbyterian Weill Cornell and Westchester Behavioral Health.
Preferred Criteria - 3+ years post MSW work experience with behavioral health patients in an outpatient setting
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the State of New York
- Experience in evidence-based short term therapy such as CBT, IPT and/or trauma informed skills
Required Criteria - Master's Degree in Social Work
- Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) by the State of New York
- Knowledge of acute psychiatric diagnoses including working with suicidal, acutely manic and psychotic individuals
- Knowledge of psychosocial assessment, safety planning, family work and discharge/aftercare needs
