LOCATIONDOROT Westchester, located in White Plains, is a satellite location to our NYC headquarters. Working in a hybrid model, the Social Worker and Community Programs Administrator will divide their time working remotely, in the field, and 2-3 days per week in the White Plains office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. To learn more, visitdorotusa.org. DOROT expanded its volunteer visiting programs to Westchester in 2005, skillfully matching older adults with volunteers for various home-based social programs. By late 2022, programs were also being introduced in Westchester community spaces, giving older adults opportunities to come together with peers to connect, learn and enjoy a variety of activities, including those that provide intergenerational engagement with local teens. DOROT Westchester is innovating and growing, seeking to engage more older adults and volunteers in more communities throughout the county, while expanding the scope of our community partnerships. THE OPPORTUNITY DOROT Westchester seeks a social worker that possesses experience and interest in both direct social work support of older adults, as well as organizing programs that foster social connections. This dynamic, hard-working and flexible individual should be comfortable with moving between two realms of responsibility: Social Work (70% of the role): DOROT Westchester's Social Workers provide case assistance and support to a broad spectrum of active as well as isolated and homebound seniors across Westchester County. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-home assessments (both initial and reassessment), working independently in the community. This includes:
    • Providing short-term case assistance, information, referral, and advocacy to these older adults and their caregivers following the assessment or as needs arise.
    • Collaborating with the social work team and other staff to integrate these older adults into DOROT programs.
  • Manage a caseload of older adults, providing ongoing support to them and volunteer in each match, and conducting annual reassessments of participating adults.
  • Collect, track, and maintain case assessment and related client interactions using the DOROT online database (Salesforce) and the Westchester County database (Peer Place).
  • Play a role in the analysis of program impact, helping to identify gaps and develop recommendations for program improvement.
  • Provide support to and participate in DOROT's community-wide intergenerational volunteer programs and on-site events.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate support or psychoeducational groups, and represent DOROT at community outreach meetings and conferences, and network with local agencies and organizations.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Manager of Visiting Programs or Regional Director of DOROT Westchester.
Community Events Administrator: (30% of the role): Provide programmatic support for an array of programs in community spaces for older adults from diverse communities. The purpose is to build social connections through participation in peer engagement programs or through intergenerational volunteering with teens. Primary Responsibilities
  • Act as a point of contact for community organizations and program facilitators.
  • Help to create and plan interesting and engaging program events in community spaces that support the development of social connections.
  • Facilitate or oversee the events when scheduled, approximately 4 per month.
  • Create monthly program collateral, post events on community calendars, and share program collateral with community partners.
  • Input client and program participation data using DOROT's Constituent Information Management System (Salesforce platform), and the Westchester County Peer Place system.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • LMSW required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated strong clinical assessment skills.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in program coordination, social services, nonprofit management or another related field.
  • Demonstrated success with program development and project management; experience with volunteer management a plus.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal competencies.
  • Comfort working with a wide variety of individuals; previous work with older adults a plus.
  • A flexible schedule, with availability to work occasional evening and weekend hours to accommodate programs, including four Sundays per year for agency-wide Package Delivery programs.
  • MS Office, Salesforce, MailChimp, Canva, Jotform preferred, as well as a willingness to learn new technology.
  • Ability to work at least once per month in the Manhattan office.
  • Driver's License and access to a car.

Candidates can expect an annualized salary of between $50,000-$55,000 commensurate with relevant experience.
