For more than 45years, Sasha Bruce has implemented innovative interventions aimed at bringing an end to youthhomelessness in the DC region. Today, its programs in DC and Prince George's County, MD, reach over6,500 runaway, homeless, abused, and neglected youth, and their families.About The Pregnant and Parenting Independent Living ProgramSasha Bruce Youthwork seeks a motivated and dynamic team member to join us at Pregnant andParenting ILP - an independent living residential program for pregnant and parenting young adults ages18-21 and their children. The program participants receive supportive services including on site casemanagement, counseling, and life skills education through individual and group sessions. The Pregnantand Parenting ILP program has the capacity to serve 6 mothers and their children.Position SummaryThe Social Worker will report to the Program Director of the Sasha Bruce Pregnant and ParentingIndependent Living Program. They will provide case management and case planning services and respondto the clinical needs of program participants, provide on-site counseling and clinical support.Qualifications Required License/Certification: Masters Degree in Social Work; LGSW/LICSW, with at least 2years of experience providing services to youth and/or families; Preferred: 3-5 years of experience providing services providing services to youth and/ or familiesor experience providing behavioral health services in a primary care setting or in the community; Competency in crisis intervention and de-escalation; Provision of LGBTQ affirming, de-pathologized care; Strong communication and organizational skills required; and, This is a full-time, exempt level position. All candidates must possess a valid driver's license andhave reliable transportation; pass the required clearances; and provide any additional informationregarding previous records, if necessary.Duties and Responsibilities Leads the intake services for all new clients and their children; Works closely with CFSA to ensure clients make progress and complete service plans by the endof their stay with Sasha Bruce; including supporting and creating action steps towards goals andcompleting regular reviews and progress reports; Assesses the needs of each client and their children; based on assessment, provides generalassistance with referrals and connections to partners, employment, financial needs, parenting,daycare, and other related items for the clients and their children; Provides specific supports, procedures and plans to ensure all preventative, routine andemergency health care needs are met for clients and children; Works closely with the planning team, including CFSA social workers, other team members andthe client, to create a detailed discharge/transition plan to ensure client can transition out of SashaBruce successfully with the supports they need; Provides a range of clinical services to youth including individual, group and family therapyusing appropriate methods and modalities; Deliver individual crisis intervention to clients on site; de-escalate and stabilize clients; Facilitate psycho-education groups on-site, utilizing evidence based practices on various topicsincluding grief/loss and separation, coping skills, mental health and wellbeing, and other relatedsubjects; Supports the scheduling and facilitating of recreational and daily living activities for the program; Complete service documentation in client case records within 24-48 hours of the service;maintain accurate, complete, and confidential case files, written documentation, reports to trackclient progress and outcomes and all other necessary clinical documentation; Participate in regular team consultation meetings, staff meetings, conferences, regular supervisionand community outreach events as required; Participate in weekly clinical supervision with the Sasha Bruce Clinical Director; Completes 40 hours of training annually; Availability in evenings and weekends as needed; Other duties as assigned; and, Must have a commitment to ending youth homelessness, racial equity, inclusion, and issuescentral to Sasha Bruce Youthwork's mission.Sasha Bruce Youthwork, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be anequal opportunity employer.
