Job Description:
Under general supervision, provides professional social counseling, support, and clinical case management to various high-risk populations within Hamilton County in programs related to prevention, rehabilitation, and development of self-sufficiency. An employee in this class provides guidance, advice, and application of theory in treatment to families and patients in home settings, outpatient clinical facilities, and/or local correctional facility settings. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, physical requirements, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's, or doctorate degree in social work and one (1) year of full-time work experience in professional social work or a social work-related field. A valid drivers license is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's of Social Work Certificate (CMSW) or License of Clinical Social Work (LCSW) from the State of Tennessee is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Work requires working with high risk, confrontational, mentally, and physically ill, and economically disadvantaged populations with potential exposure to infectious diseases. Work may require making home visits; may involve working after regular business hours in high crime areas; may work at various sites or may be required to make presentations and attend community meetings.
