The School Social Worker significantly contributes to the development of a health, safe and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community and cultural differences on student success and by implementing effective intervention strategies. The School Social Worker will be a part of each school's student assistance team. Position Requirements:
  • Master's degree and licensure as a School Social Worker.
  • Experience and training in group and individual counseling with school-age population.
  • Working knowledge in areas of child abuse and neglect.
  • Sensitivity to students in need and the ability to communicate effectively with students, adults and
  • community agencies.
  • Preferred county-wide knowledge of community resources.
Other Skills & Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures, methods and techniques used for assessing sociological needs of individual students.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state mandates and local procedures and regulations relating to social and community support programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of providing effective therapy for students; thorough knowledge of the practices, methods ,and techniques.
FTE/Schedule: 1.0 FTE 12/10/2024-03/14/2025 Rate of Pay: Based on Master Agreement
