The Safe Center provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, rape/sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking. Built on four decades of leadership in the community in responding to victims' needs, The Safe Center's repertoire of services and expertise in working with child and adult victims of abuse is breaking new ground in victim's services. Its mission is To protect, assist, and empower victims of family violence and sexual assault while challenging and changing social systems that tolerate and perpetuate abuse. To learn more about The Safe Center, please visit www.tscli.org.Our Rape/Sexual Assault Department provides trauma-focused mental health services to adult victims regardless of gender ages 18 and over (and their non-offending family members) who have been impacted by rape and sexual abuse.This is a full-time position Monday-Friday with some evenings. Weekly supervision is provided by an LCSW-R. Includes medical/dental benefits and generous paid time off policy.Responsibilities of the Bilingual Rape and Sexual Assault Counselor include: Phone outreach & screening for servicesIntake and assessmentCrisis intervention & suicide risk assessmentIndividual & group therapySupport group facilitation (ideally two groups)Information, advocacy, and referralCollaboration with Child Advocacy Center multi-disciplinary team members and other professionals (attendance at meetings) and Collaboration with Rape/Sexual Assault multi-disciplinary team members and other professionalsInterpretation & translation of documentsData entry in agency's database empowerDBEligibility Requirements:Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or equivalentNY State licensure or eligible for limited permitBilingual (English/Spanish) a MUSTClinical experience working with adult survivors of sexually abuse strongly preferred.Training in trauma treatment modalities strongly preferred.Commitment to a strengths-based approachSalary:$50,000 annually $55,000 annually Bilingual SpanishTo Apply:Send resume and cover letter to Janine Sadowski or fax to (516) ###-####.
