Tesla's Battery Materials Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to be the Soft Craft & Facilities Lead for a novel battery chemical plant near Corpus Christi, TX.As the Soft Craft & Facilities Lead, you will play a crucial role in supporting the safe and efficient execution of construction, commissioning, and routine maintenance activities, particularly those requiring scaffolding, while leading the development of associated safety standards and operational processes that we will implement as we transition into the core maintenance & reliability organization post startup.
Responsibilities - Develop and implement a comprehensive program for soft craft planning, scheduling, and execution, inclusive of safety standards, work practices, personnel management, and contracting strategies.
- Provide expert level scaffolding, insulation, and painting leadership focused on safe and efficient construction, commissioning, and ultimately maintenance activities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive program for the maintenance, repair, and improvements of all non-process facilities on-site
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of the most complex scaffolds for the manufacturing team
- Provide 24/7 break-in support as needed to minimize production and/or facilities outages
- Onboard, train, and qualify new Tesla and/or contract resources that will be expected to execute scaffolding, insulation, painting, or facilities maintenance work onsite
Requirements - 8+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment, with experience supporting operations and maintenance organizations
- Strong understanding of facilities operations and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire suppression equipment
- 5+ years as a scaffold builder and 3+ years of related leadership is preferred
- Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of working-at-heights fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging technical problems
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing safety standards specific to soft crafts and facilities maintenance
- Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours
- Must have command of the English language both written and verbal
