- Demonstrate a proficiency in the sport including governing rules, strategy, and skills.
- Possess sound moral character.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the athlete, academics, and overall athletic and school program.
- Possess CPR certification and concussion protocol training or willingness to become certified.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Suggest adaptations and modifications to coaching techniques, strategies and game plans.
- Work collaboratively with head coach to plans and implement organized daily practice plans
- Demonstrate an understanding of safety considerations for athletes.
- Work cooperatively with other coaches, athletic director, trainer, and building administration.
- Promote and maintain positive public relations with parents and the community.
- Help provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and player conduct.
- Comply with all HAC, DIAA, and school district policies.
- Help maintain inventories of all equipment and uniforms.
- Assist in recommending purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
- Support in preparation for each game in strategy and player motivation.
- Assists in overseeing the safety of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted.
- Aid in communication of pre, post and in season information to players, parents, and school officials.
- Perform other duties as assigned that relate to this position.
Terms of Employment: 1 Season Salary and Benefits: Salary per the Sussex Technical School District and STEA collective bargaining agreement.
