Experience: Previous Experience playing or coaching at the high school or college level Physical Requirements: - Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, and the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit. The ability to travel between locations
Special Knowledge/Skills: - Must have experience or a desire to work in a diverse school district
- General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct, lead and supervise student athletes
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Hours: - 2 Hour Practices 3-5
- Home and Away Games 2 hours (games vary on the schedule)
- Possible Weekend games
- 22 Games plus playoffs

Certain job functions described herein may be subject to possible modification in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. iLearn Schools expects Varsity Head coaches to assume responsibility for the entire program which includes: Coaching the varsity team and supervising JV & assistant coaches within the softball program. Giving guidance to the high school junior varsity and middle school program. Implementing district, league, conference and state athletic department policies. Works with the High School Athletic Director and Principal to Communicate the high school softball schedule Verify student physical examination requirements. Prepare athletic permission slips and eligibility lists such as grade checks. Organize middle school communications of the high school soccer program for incoming freshmen. Develop programs in the elementary and middle school to foster interest and development in the sport. Supervises practice fields and playing areas during and following periods of team participation. Remains with students and supervises them while traveling to away competitions. Works closely with the Athletic Trainer to care for athletes and injured players. Communicates all injuries to the Athletic Trainer and parents as necessary. Cares for, takes inventory and maintains the distribution and storage of all necessary equipment and uniforms. Plans and coordinates the end of the year Team Banquet or Dinner. Organizes at least one team fundraiser and participates in all Athletic Department and Booster Club fundraisers as necessary. Organizes at least one outreach event to the elementary school, middle school or community at large; Clinics, camps, school visits, invites to varsity games or practice etc. Attends all state, division, and conference meetings where the program is involved. Is informed on current trends in the sport and attends and clinics and professional development. Maintains active membership in related professional organizations and associations. Maintains a positive staff relationship with other coaches. Dresses professionally relative to their sport. Communicates with players about personal development during the season as well as the off-season by providing player improvement forms and individual meetings. Provides and communicates opportunities for players to better themselves in the offseason such as: Offseason workouts Weight room access Sharing information on camps and clinics Holds meetings with parents to inform them about the program as well as your expectations of them and the players. Leads by example regarding promotion of sportsmanship. Promotes the high school program by encouraging participation of players of the upcoming season. Performs other duties as assigned by the High School Principal and Athletic Director. Applies and enforces student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off school property in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. Advise students and parents on athletic code of conduct, including consequences for violation, and coordinate with athletic director in instances of possible violations of the code of conduct. Establish and maintain open, professional and respectful communications with students, parents, teachers, athletic director and youth feeder coaches. Have the total athletic and school program at interest. Be supportive of student participation in other student activities and communicate with colleagues regarding expectations in and out of season.
