Job DescriptionLockheed Martin, a leader in advancing secure communications and cutting-edge defense technology, is seeking a Software Configuration Specialist to join our team in King of Prussia, PA. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects that protect and serve our nation's defense.You will be working on military satellite communications (SATCOM) Ground systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the software environment for testing and running microservices-based web applications. This is a unique opportunity to work on a cutting-edge program and contribute to the integration of multiple systems.As a Software Configuration Specialist you will:• Set up and configure software environments for testing and running microservices-based web applications• Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, software frameworks, and tools• Develop and maintain scripts and automated processes for environment setup and deployment• Collaborate with integration teams to ensure seamless integration of software components• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software configuration and environment setup• Develop and maintain documentation for software configuration and environment setup procedures• Work closely with the System Integration and Test team to ensure that software environments meet testing and validation requirements• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errorsThis position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance, as the facility requires special access.Successful applicants typically possess typically 2 years of professional work experience in this area.Basic Qualifications• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker)• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)• Strong understanding of software development life cycles and testing methodologies• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment• Strong communication and documentation skills• Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, including experience with test-driven development (TDD) or behavior-driven development (BDD).• Final secret clearanceDesired skills• Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or Puppet• Knowledge of web application development frameworks (e.g., Spring, React)• Experience with software configuration management tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD)• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.• Familiarity with military SATCOM systems and secure communication protocols.EEOLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.National Pay StatementPay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $70,500 - $135,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
