Job Description:
KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Software Developer Journeyman, to join our team. This position will require fully onsite work at NAS Pax River located in St. Mary's County, MD. This position is contingent upon contract award. Established in July 2013, KAIROS, Inc. is a growing Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) providing full life cycle Cybersecurity, Program Management, Engineering, Logistics, Additive Manufacturing, and Training and Education services focused on optimizing customers' program performance and mission through proven methodologies and ethical practices. This position will perform research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Primary Duties:
  • Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compliers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing applications
  • Set operational specifications, formulate, and analyze software requirements.
  • May design embedded systems software.
  • Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Skills and Qualifications:

  • Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in a Technical discipline
  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree a Associates Degree may be substituted plus two (2) years additional work experience performing duties described in the job description
  • In lieu of a Associates degree four (4) years additional work experience performing duties described in the job description may be substituted.
  • 3-10 years of combined experience performing duties in job description
  • Security + Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of filling the position
  • Demonstrated work experience with Windows and Linux operating systems (desired)
  • Experience applying system patches and Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls (desired)
Clearance: This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Top Secret/SCI Secret Security Clearance. Compensation: While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.
