We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer 3 to join our team and lead the design and implementation of enterprise-level data solutions using the Snowflake platform. This role demands expertise in Snowflake architecture, data security, and integration with cloud services. The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem-solver with a strong background in data modeling, performance optimization, and automation.
The Software Engineer 3 will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the Snowflake environment meets business requirements while optimizing workflows for scalability and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Data Architecture: Design and implement data structures leveraging Snowflake's advanced features, such as data sharing, scalability, and secure data exchange.
- ETL/ELT Development: Develop and optimize workflows for data processing and storage.
- Integration: Seamlessly integrate Snowflake with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), third-party tools, and on-premises systems.
- Data Security: Apply encryption, role-based access control (RBAC), and data masking to ensure the security of sensitive data.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance query performance and resource utilization.
- Automation: Use Snowflake SQL, Python, or Shell scripting to automate administrative tasks.
- Warehouse Management: Configure and manage Snowflake Virtual Warehouses for optimal performance.
- Access Management: Implement and manage Snowflake RBAC, SSO, and SCIM for secure user access.
- Monitoring and Alerts: Configure alerts for data pipeline failures, resource spikes, and cost thresholds.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure the Snowflake platform aligns with project needs.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in data modeling, integration, warehousing, governance, and security.
- Expertise in Oracle and/or PostgreSQL in high-availability deployments.
- Proficiency in Snowflake architecture, including Databases, Procedures, Tasks, and Streams.
- Advanced knowledge of Snowflake's cloning capabilities and Virtual Warehouse management.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake RBAC, SSO, and SCIM.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools like Informatica and ADF.
- Automation skills using Snowflake SQL, Python, or Shell scripting.
- Strong background in monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Snowflake environments.
- Expertise in security features, including encryption and data masking.
- Proficiency in technical writing, diagramming, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Agile development experience, including JIRA.
Preferred
- 5+ years of familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control.
- Previous experience in the healthcare or public sector domains.
- Knowledge of handling PII, PHI, and HL7 data.
- Azure cloud expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Additional Details The base range for this contract position is $76 - $86/per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
