From our headquarters in the Hill Country southwest of Austin, Texas, we operate on a lean and flexible basis allowing us to adapt to our client's design needs, budget, and schedule.Position Summary The Software Engineer Level I is responsible for writing, testing, and integrating code with hardware at both the instrument and system levels for customer specific projects. In this position, one must read and understand the project requirements and follow the software plan defined by the software lead. It will occasionally require interfacing with customers, and providing on-site support of delivered systems as necessary. RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Writes code in LabVIEW, LabWindows CVI and other languages as required (Drivers/wrappers, Test Code, Test Sequences).
  • Sets up LabVIEW Projects.
  • Builds Executables.
  • Builds Installation/Deployment packages.
  • Works in TestStand.
  • Integrates Software and Hardware at the System Level at Hiller Measurements.
  • Troubleshoots, trains, and installs systems at customer sites.
  • Updates software documentation.
  • Effectively diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions.
  • Takes ownership of goals, project schedules, and milestones.
  • Reviews and approves product specifications and customer user documentation for the product.
  • Ability to document and follow the process flow on the Engineering Change Request (ECN) and submits for revision.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with LabVIEW and LabWindows a must; GitLab and Python preferred.
  • Passion for learning about and working with test and measurement industry technologies.
  • Quickly learns applicable technology, systems and commercial off the shelf components.
  • Multitask between concurrent projects.
  • Listen attentively and grasp fast-paced technical conversation.
  • Desires to continually take on new and challenging tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
  • Engineering co-op or intern experience preferred.
  • LabVIEW and LabWindows CVI experience preferred.
  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident (due to company contracts falling under the ITAR).
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
