Identity and Access Management at H-E-B

Our goal is to ensure both Security and Ease of use are top of mind as we deliver seamless onboarding and access experiences. The Identity and Access Management team is chartered with keeping our Partners and systems secure across multiple cloud and runtime environments.

As a Software Engineer in the Identity and Access Management space, your job is to join in that mission, with a team of other tenacious engineers, to serve as a thought leader and innovator.

Who You Are

  • Bachelors degree in a field related to Engineering or Computer Science, or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of Software Engineering or Identity Management Work
  • Proficient with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go and authorization and authentication technologies such as SAML, OIDC, LDAP, etc
  • Passionate about enabling others securely
  • Knowledgeable of public and private cloud environments and Linux internals
  • Confident representing your ideas and opinions in a manner that may be challenged and respond to feedback well
  • Demonstrate inclusive behavior and cultivate diversity to generate a sense of belonging amongst your colleagues
  • Have an ownership mentality and track record of successful, high-quality results
  • Adept in Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and intrinsic motivation to get things accomplished well
  • Communicate technical information and details effectively to technical and non-technical audiences

What You'll Do

  • Enhance existing identity management practices, improving efficiency and structure to evolve with business needs
  • Drive observability, detection capabilities, and preventive measures for our infrastructure and services
  • Implement privileged identity controls using cloud native and traditional approaches
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the software and systems in your domain and how they interact with other products
  • Operate independently with assistance from more experienced engineers as needed
  • Provide on-call support on a rotational basis
  • Participate in the full SDLC; including development, estimation, planning, and design ? Deliver moderately complex code solutions
  • Execute on high priority items alongside teammates
  • Implement systems to automate user and group management
  • Assist Partner teams in the adoption and integration of IAM capabilities into their development lifecycles
