This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.Job Summary:Content Platform Engineering is hiring a Software Engineer II to help build and innovate a world class content platform to support content delivery for brands such as Disney plus, ESPN+, Hulu, ABC, Marvel and Star Wars. Our team of talented software engineers builds and manages a diverse suite of products and services that advance Disney's media supply chain powering the some of the most watched entertainment content. You will help to define platform capabilities, designing and implementing product solutions using solid design principles, while balancing complexity, speed of implementation, and expandability.Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:You will be building scalable, maintainable, and well-tested software solutions which are flexible to meet the requirements of multiple customers and stakeholders.You will:Collaborate with other software engineers and cross-functional teamsWork as part of a team to build, test, and deploy high quality software solutionsBuild a deep understanding of our core systems and how they interact with upstream and downstream dependencies.Work with the team to break down product requirements into engineering tasksContribute to cross-functional troubleshooting of complex issues as neededTroubleshoot issues and fix defectsParticipate in code reviewsBasic Qualifications:Experience with Java, Kotlin, and Spring FrameworkExperience using CI/CD patternsExperience with cloud technologies such as AWS ECS, ALB, EC2, SQS, etc.Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologyTeam player with strong oral and written communications skillsMotivated self-starter with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologiesExperience with full lifecycle of application development, including best practices of unit testing, code reviews, documentation, etc.Strong communication skills and attention to detail3+ years relevant industry experiencePreferred Qualifications:Previous work experience in media distributionExperience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality resultsKnowledge of performance testing and application profilingStrong curiosity about how Disney delivers the Magic and a desire to be a part of itRequired Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a comparable field of studyThe hiring range for this position in California is $114,900 to $154,100 per year and in Seattle and New York is $120,300 to $161,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
