Located in the heart of New Orleans and serving clients nationally, we're seeking a Software Engineer with a strong background in Elixir, Python, & Node to help us continue to deliver strategic software solutions. - Architect and develop new software features and systems using Elixir and the Phoenix web framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clients, to convert business needs into technical specifications and solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices.
- Perform robust unit and integration testing, and continuous code reviews to ensure high-quality product releases.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems for performance and scalability.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote skill development within the team.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in software engineering and apply them to the development process where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Elixir and the Phoenix web framework.
- Strong grasp on front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience developing applications with React and React Native.
- Proficiency in Python, showcasing the ability to work across multiple programming languages.
- Solid understanding of functional programming, OTP (Open Telecom Platform), and concurrency.
- Extensive practice with RESTful API design and implementation.
- Proficient use of version control tools, specifically GitHub.
- Experience with cloud infrastructures such as AWS or GCP, and containerization technologies like Docker.
- Strong analytical abilities paired with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Contributions to open source projects.
- Experience with GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and practices.
- Knowledge of mobile app development for iOS or Android.
- Understanding of machine learning.
- Comfort with DevOps practices and infrastructure as code.
- Prior experience in a Lean Agile development environment.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup or high-growth technology environment.
