Software Engineer @ CueBoxSoftware Engineer @ CueBox, Early Stage Startup in NYC About CueBox CueBox is a venture-backed seed stage startup building modern software for performing arts and cultural organizations (think: your favorite orchestra, theater, dance troupe, etc). Our mission is to empower these organizations so that more people can experience and appreciate the arts. Our product meaningfully increases our customers' revenue and saves them time by streamlining workflows in fundraising, ticketing, marketing, education and more. We have a fast growing and happy customer base, are on track to at least triple revenue this year, and we are just getting started! We are looking to add a talented and driven engineer to our small but mighty team as we continue to grow. Location We are hiring engineers who are located in the New York City metro area. We are a hybrid workplace, and our team is typically in office Tuesday-Thursday. About You We are looking for experienced and product-oriented engineers who love building delightful and performant products, are excited to work hard at a mission-oriented startup, and want to collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a growing team! Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including prior experience at an early or mid stage startup
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Ability and desire to work across the stack to deliver features end to end
- Proven track record of building data intensive applications in a strongly typed backend language (we use Go but direct experience there is not essential)
- Experience with data transformation in Python/Pandas and data pipelines for bringing in data from one system to another
- Thrives in a high velocity environment and makes thoughtful decisions while navigating ambiguity
- Exhibits strong critical thinking skills, resourcefulness, ownership mentality
- Collaborates and communicates effectively, empathetic
About the Role This role reports directly to the CTO. You will:
- Pioneer new features and product areas
- Own and scale our backend systems
- Meaningfully influence technical direction as the company grows
- Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence
- Work in our current tech stack: Golang/Protobuf/Postgres backend; Next.js/Chakra UI frontend; hosted on GCP; additional scripts in Python
Here is a sample of upcoming projects that you could work on:
- Drive new product areas such as dynamic pricing, livestream events, classes/youth programming as we expand our product offering.
- Increase our new customer onboarding throughput and unlock new market segments for the company by owning and automating our customer onboarding flow.
- Optimize and improve our core consumer facing checkout flows and our admin facing analytics workloads.
- Add new email marketing and payment processor integrations.
- Architect and implement core data model improvements to enable more sophisticated payments features.
