Job Description About the Role We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Revenue Technology group. Our Salesforce team is directly responsible for empowering our Sales teams with the necessary tools to do their job. You will collaborate with our sales teams and provide the best possible user experience in Salesforce and handle smooth integration between Salesforce and our other systems. You will lead Salesforce tech projects to improve the process for our current Salesforce systems. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in our Manhattan headquarters and two days working remotely. Responsibilities: You will be responsible for development in Salesforce, while providing leadership in data architecture, software/web solutions, coding standardization/best practices, quality assurance, and technical documentation. You will work with users within The New York Times to assess their needs, help design and implement those solutions.
  • You will design, code, and implement solutions for business process needs
  • Independently complete best practices design and coding for front-end and back-end development
  • Maintain technical and end-user documentation
  • Oversee the functional testing and performance plan for projects
  • Ensure the security of The New York Times data stored both on internal New York Times systems and in the cloud
  • Provide data architecting leadership for database and reporting technologies
  • Manage and prevent technical debt
  • Create complex systems/solutions ensuring accurate estimates of work
  • You will report to the Systems Director responsible for Salesforce
Basic Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of professional programming experience
  • 4+ current Salesforce Certifications
  • 3+ years of professional experience developing applications on Salesforce platform (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, SOQL)
  • 1-2 years of experience with Pardot, CRM Analytics(CRM-A)
  • 1-2 years of experience in the following: MySQL, Maria DB, SQL Server, Biq Query, Eclipse, C#, .Net, Java or demonstrated proficiency in object-oriented languages
  • Experience with Docusign, Cirrus Insight, OwnBackup,Tableau and SAP Business Objects
  • Experience with integration of Salesforce with external systems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Lightning Design, Workflows, Process Builder, Force.com, Salesforce Flow, Data Loader
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
This role may require limited on-call hours. An on-call schedule will be determined when you join, taking into account team size and other variables.
