About this RoleCarrier is seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join the Commercial Airside (AHU) New Product Development team as an intern/co-op for 2025. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy.The successful candidate will work on programming and optimizing of selection software for new products and options to support the growth of the Commercial Airside business.
General Responsibilities - Apply software engineering principles to code parametric engineering designs
- Analyze existing code to catch up on current software and systems
- Documentation and maintenance of code over time
- Utilize Agile methodologies for product development
- Participate in continuous improvement activities including standard work, Kaizen and VSM events
Specific Responsibilities- Understand pre-existing Java code behind the current, highly configurable product offering to assist in code optimization efforts
- Work with others on the engineering and software teams on the backend for the next generation cloud based front end for selection software
- Develop test cases to validate Product Design and Software
- Assist the maintenance and optimization of hardware infrastructure to support software optimization.
- Attend company functions, lunch and learns, and networking events
- Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks
Basic Qualifications- Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (or Higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
- GPA must be greater than or equal to a 3.0 GPA
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
- 1+ years of Java and XML Database
Preferred Qualifications- RegEx
- grep, awk, sed
- SQL
- DROOLS
- Cloud computing
- Agile mindset
- Scrum experience
- Working Knowledge of xQuery, VBA & JavaScript
- Knowledge of PTC's Pro/Engineer (Creo) and WindChill applications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-driven and proactive
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects
- Sheet metal, mechanical and electrical design experience is desired
- HVAC engineering/design/manufacturing experience is preferred
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities

Pay Range:$41,000 - $96,450 Annually
