Job Overview Shades of Light is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead our software development team. The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing all elements of software development for Shades of Light. This includes but is not limited to requirements gathering, system improvements, application development, server and database management, system enhancements, and vendor management. The Software Engineering Manager should be an effective leader and be knowledgeable in software and web development. Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the development life cycle of Shades of Light's software systems including the development and deployment of new applications, software, and enhancements.
- Oversees the design, development, and implementation of system software upgrades.
- Implement and audit an effective code review process for the development team.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to review and enhance the architecture and performance of Shades of Light's e-commerce system.
- Contribute to projects as the subject matter expert for development and the codebase.
- Establish standards and audit criteria for development and testing activities.
- Drive effective communication between teams and departments to increase overall organizational efficiency.
- Partner with internal users to gather information about needs, objectives, functions, features, and input/output requirements.
- Maintains current industry specific knowledge regarding emerging technology, best practices, and trends.
- Provides leadership and support to the software and web development team including day to day management and professional development.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field or equivalent experience required
- 5 years of technical leadership experience.
- 5 years of development and engineering experience with 1-2 Years Prior experience with .NET development and/or NodeJS preferred
- Proficient in various programming languages such as: C#, SQL, JavaScript, HTML and VB.NET
- Experience with Hana and Microsoft SQL preferred
- Database design and maintenance experience
- Experience implementing and consuming JSON API's, SOAP, and REST
- Experience with SAP B1 is preferred.
- Knowledge of Authorize, Avalara, Frontastic, Amplience, Commerce Tools, and Listrak a plus.
