Job Description:
Position: Software Testing Lead Location:San Antonio, TX/Falls Church, VAWork Environment: Hybrid Clearance Required: NoneStatus: Contingent Upon Contract AwardKnowesis, is currently seeking a Software Testing Lead to support to certify software changes for a major federal benefits program.The Testing Lead will direct a technical team that will ensure all new requirements and change packages are validated within the system. The position will work with both internal contract requirements analysts and external contract developers and Government staff to ensure the requirements are implemented correctly.To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position's security clearance requirements. The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Development of test plans, test resources and software test reports (unit testing, user acceptance testing, system integration testing)
  • The Test Lead will coordinate with the Project Manger to devise a testing schedule and the resources needed to accomplish the testing activities.
  • The test plan will outline the overall approach, objectives, scope, and schedule of the data mart testing activities. It includes details on testing methodologies, resources, roles, responsibilities, and success criteria. Also, test cases, which are detailed descriptions of specific scenarios or conditions to be tested within the data mart. They specify inputs, expected outcomes, preconditions, and postconditions for each test scenario.
  • Responsible for managing and leading the day-to-day testing activities required to support successful completion of test events
  • Develop and coordinate a test strategy and plan with Government Test Manager that will address and identify work breakdown structure, test architecture, schedule, deliverables, required resources, risk assessment, and quality control
  • Serve as Liaison between the Test Team, T&E Management, the Government Test Manager, the Product Manager, and Functional Area Management Teams
  • Maintain situational awareness of issues or situations that may impact the ability of the team to complete assignments on time and ensure that T&E Management and Government Test Managers are kept appropriately informed
  • Understanding the architecture and configuration of test environments and test scenario conditions/parameters by providing overall frameworks for all of the tests to be performed for a test engagement, including identifying types of tests needed and objectives to be addressed
  • Analyzing documents (e.g., design, requirements, architecture, diagrams, flowcharts) to obtain an understanding of the requirements of the test engagement
  • Training and assisting other test analysts in development and execution of test cases, test scripts, test scenarios and user stories
  • Document and track test events in test management tool for planning, execution, and reporting phases of each test event
  • Facilitate daily and weekly internal and external status meetings, trainings, and test strategy meetings to ensure testing team is well informed of ongoing testing activities, knowledgeable in all MHS applications, and identify risks early in the project lifecycle
  • Forecast for future test events to includes scope, complexity, requirements analysis breakdown, projected hours, risks, issues, and assumptions
  • Provide support regarding application and environment risks, system architecture, software delivery processes, and scheduling impacts
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum 4 years of relevant Health IT Testing experience or a minimum of 6 years of relevant Health IT Testing experience without a bachelor's degree
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Kanban credentials or ISTQB Agile Tester Certification
  • Experienced managing and leading testing and evaluation activities for multiple sustainment and new development releases concurrently in multiple test environments
  • Must have experience in both the Waterfall and Agile development methodology, and experience using many of the agile tools included in the development/test Tool Suite (e.g., Jira)
  • Experience in managing ITIL and ITSM solutions
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing test cases, test scripts, test scenarios and user stories
  • Experience creating and using Requirements Traceability matrices to manage testing scope and track defects
  • Experience designing, implementing, and conducting test and evaluation procedures to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met
  • Experience providing testing subject matter specialist know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications
  • Experience with DevSecOps concepts
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant discipline
