Sunnova owns and maintains a distributed fleet of residential solar systems across 30+ states and several U.S. territories. All monitoring and inbound customer service calls are handled in-house. We utilize a highly skilled team of technicians as well as third-party service partners, to maintain and service our fleet. The Solar Helper's primary responsibility is to assist Solar Technicians with maintaining the performance of the solar systems, provide excellent customer service to our Customers, ensure a smooth workflow, and optimally performing solar systems.Solar Helper ResponsibilitiesAssists Solar Technician in performing maintenance and service tasks for solar customers in assigned territoriesAssists Solar Technician in evaluating systems accurately for maintenance, warranty, design, and other purposesAssists Solar Technician in providing Tier 1 troubleshooting for all performing solar systemsDevelops knowledge of all roof types, the appropriate flashings, and mounts, while working at various heightsMinimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma (or GED) 0-1+ year experience as an electrical technician, solar installer, or solar maintenance technicianCurrent, valid Driver's license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Proficient in speaking, reading and writing EnglishElectrical trainingPreferred QualificationsOSHA 30 CertifiedFormal electrical apprenticeship and/or vocational training0-1 + years' labor experience in electrical trade, general construction, or mechanical experience0-1 + years in the Solar Electric Industry Bilingual, English and Spanish Additional Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficiency in Microsoft OfficeOrganized and maintains a professional appearanceStrong verbal and written communication skills.Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagramsWorking ConditionsLocation varies depending on job sitesEstimated 25% travel with 25% overnight staysAble to work an adjusting schedule and respond to emergenciesDriving Required; Valid Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Report requiredPhysical Requirements•Long hours spent outside of residential rooftops, driving to customer residencies, some ground and rooftop work •Various weather conditions include cold and snowy, hot and humid, and everything in between; must be comfortable working in different environments•Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; assistance may be provided for oversized items•Able to sit, stand, walk, and drive for up to 8 hours at a time•Work postures include reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, and handling objects above/below the shoulderBenefitsSunnova offers a generous employee reward package that includes:Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, healthcare flexible spending account, and 401(k) with employer match.Paid time off, including 10 holidays and Paid Parental LeaveCell phone allowance for many rolesFree access to onsite fitness center in Houston and/or discounted fitness memberships through health provider$28.50 - $28.50 an hourAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.We appreciate the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI), and we are looking to hire real people.
