Our solar asset portfolio continues to increase at a near exponential rate, with a mixture of Owner developed and constructed sites and third-party sites contracted, or already under management. Our goal is to provide a more inclusive service capability, driving out the large expenses that are normally passed through to the owner. The Plant Manager supervises and runs an organization of solar technicians responsible to maintain, troubleshoot, test, repair, and install equipment in accordance with established standards and procedures, as well as the management of the vegetation mitigation efforts totaling a team of about 10-15 people.Key ResponsibilitiesThis position will consist of both field and administrative duties including the supervision of field technicians and collaboration with external contractors.Responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar utility power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism.Oversees several personnel, maximizing operational efficiency, solar production and battery (BESS) performance.Responsible for Equipment Maintenance and Tool Control ProgramsManages the Site Safety and Accident Prevention ProgramsRuns the Site Training ProgramTroubleshoot system problems and resolve issues in a timely mannerProvide an expert level knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment. Tests installed equipment, ensuring proper working order including daily mechanical electrical inspectionsResponsible for documentation including, but not limited to: work orders, service orders, time logs, and personnel schedulesMaintains inventory control of Site assigned equipment to ensure adequate stock levels and accurate accounting of spares inventory.Train, mentor and develop Solar TechniciansEnsure continuing education to meet safety and plant requirementsMaintain the Plant's vegetation requirements; includes mowing and spraying routinelyEmployment may require working on weekends and holidays, including an on call service availability via telephone/text messagePreferred QualificationsValid Driver's License REQUIRED4 + years working in solar utility power plants with 2 years at a supervisor levelExperience with solar utility power plant operations, maintenance, high voltage switching, and all aspects of corrective maintenance/repairsExperience with troubleshooting and maintaining Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)Understands SCADA and plant performance dataExperience with equipment maintenance; such as mower, multi hogs, tractors, etc.Switchman/substation experienceManagement and Leadership Experience with multiple levels of employees including contractorsProject Management Expertise - must be capable of running multiple simultaneous projects of varying scopesPlanning expertise - expected to maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedulesWilling and able to work overtime, holidays and weekends and to work on short notice as neededExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to perform basic electrical calculations, read and interpret electrical drawings and schematicsAbility to manage priorities and workflow, working independently with minimal supervisionAbility to perform necessary physical activity, including lifting up to 80 LbsAbility to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgroundsAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningLocation Columbus, MSTravel Up to 20% travel as neededJob Level Manager - will have direct reportsOrigis Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOC).
