Job Description:

The Solar Power Module Test Engineer will be responsible for managing and executing all stress testing of solar power modules. This engineer will work as part of the Product Team to ensure all components of the solar modules are undergoing an adequate test campaign for incorporation into Space Mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan test campaigns based on space environmental requirement, mission requirements, qualification requirements and changes in the product.
  • Create test procedures for all component tests, including thermal environmental tests, mechanical fatigue tests, electrical tests, ESD tests, and radiation tests.
  • Source testing facilities and testing equipment to execute the tests.
  • Execute tests, collect data and create reports.
  • Manage test equipment and ensure it is properly maintained to support all tests.
  • Manage test facility suppliers.
  • Work with other engineers and technicians to prioritize the workload.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+years of engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in test engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or other technical degree
  • Experience testing and qualifying space products; including most of the following: thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, vibration testing, ESD testing, electrical end to end testing, mechanical end to end testing, electroluminescence testing, welding verification
  • Experience working with solar power products
  • Experience managing technical projects

Additional Qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD in test engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or other technical degree.
  • Experience with solar cell testing.
