Position Scope and Organizational Impact The Project Manager for the Solar division will be instrumental in overseeing medium-sized construction projects, ensuring alignment with design specifications, budgetary constraints, and schedule requirements. This role involves providing technical expertise, contract administration, and leadership in safety practices. The Project Manager will act as a crucial point of contact for stakeholders, contributing to the mission of building better communities through sustainable solar solutions. Key Responsibilities - Provide overall contract administration and technical support for medium-sized construction projects. - Develop and implement a comprehensive project safety plan, leading by example to promote health and safety practices. - Ensure project execution adheres to design, budget, resource allocation, quality, and timeline. - Understand client drivers, offering value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule optimization. - Manage project performance, delivering status reports on safety, cost forecasts, and schedules. - Negotiate and issue subcontracts, major purchase orders, and progress payments, monitoring their progress and schedule. - Communicate and enforce contract terms and documents effectively. - Oversee project closeout, ensuring all aspects are completed satisfactorily. - Identify and manage risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. - For design-build projects, monitor design progress and compliance, ensuring quality and coordination. - Maintain clear communication with all parties regarding potential opportunities and challenges, managing stakeholder expectations. Education and Experience Requirements - Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. - 8-10 years of progressive construction experience, with a preference for leadership and mentoring roles. - Demonstrated ability to foster a strong safety culture through health, safety, and environmental principles. - In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including materials, specifications, methods, laws, and codes. - Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, including budget and schedule management. - Proven ability to identify and manage project risks and opportunities. - Effective relationship-building skills with key stakeholders and decision-makers. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and adaptable to new technologies.
