Solo Pastor

Covenant Theological Seminary

Location: Astoria,NY, USA

Date: 2024-11-02T07:20:55Z

Job Description:

The mission of Astoria Community Church is to glorify God by learning of God, living in Christ, and loving God and our neighbors.

Our church mission is built around what Jesus called the first and greatest commandment, to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, all our souls, and all our minds (Matthew 22:34-40). The second commandment, like unto it, Jesus said, is to love our neighbors as ourselves.

We believe that God loves the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, NYC, and has raised up our church as a faithful, loving presence within it. Astoria is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the United States, and our church reflects that diversity. Our members and attendees hail from all over the world, and it is common to find people who speak multiple languages in the congregation.

We are seeking an experienced solo pastor to lead and guide our diverse, dedicated and engaged congregation.

The ideal candidate has prior PCA pastoral experience leading a diverse congregation in an urban setting. Deeply grounded in personal thoughtful prayer and knowledge and study of the Bible, God's revealed and authoritative word. Highly collaborative with excellent communication skills.
