Summary:

The Solution Delivery Manager leads a team of software engineers and support staff in developing and maintaining critical public and private sector applications while driving technical innovation and team growth. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and people management skills, balancing day-to-day operations with strategic initiatives and collaboration with internal and external leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and oversee AWS-based solutions: Design and manage AWS infrastructure, including VPCs, servers, and clusters, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Review and guide technical implementation: Provide oversight and guidance on the technical execution of multiple projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality standards.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies: Research and integrate emerging technologies to enhance development processes and improve system efficiency.
  • Lead multiple development projects: Act as the technical lead on several concurrent projects, managing project scope, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
  • Create and review technical proposals and documentation: Develop and assess technical proposals, requirements documentation, and KPIs, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders: Work closely with stakeholders to gather project requirements, define solutions, and occasionally write proposals, ensuring that project needs are met.
  • Mentor and lead software engineering team: Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 software engineers, providing guidance, assigning project leads, and ensuring progress and performance.
  • Foster knowledge sharing and skill development: Promote continuous learning within the team, encouraging knowledge exchange and personal development to build expertise and efficiency.
  • Facilitate agile processes: Organize and facilitate agile practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other development processes to keep the team on track and ensure timely delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships: Negotiate technical contracts, collaborate with program management to handle statements of work, and manage relationships with vendors and third-party integrations to ensure smooth project execution.

Technical Requirements

  • AWS cloud infrastructure and architecture
  • Experience with: PHP, Angular, Node.js, MySQL
  • Docker and containerization
  • Automated testing frameworks
  • JIRA and agile project management tools Development Tools & Systems
  • Version control systems (Git)
  • CI/CD pipelines • Support tools (e.g., Grasshopper, Tech Line)
  • API development and integration
  • Database design and optimization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in managing a team of developers in a fast-paced environment, prior experience managing and leading migration from on-premise to cloud preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of web development frameworks, cloud and database technologies.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on agile methodologies.
  • AWS certifications preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and meet project milestones
