Job Description:
Summary: This position independently operates ultrasound equipment used to produce quality diagnostic echocardiography to ensure optimal patient care. Responsibilities: * Perform inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition. * Perform advanced echo imaging including echo guidance for interventional procedures, such as ECMO, LVAD, ASD devices, Balloon Septostomy, and PCE taps. * Assist with intraoperative TEE. * Responsible for performing, archiving and and calculations of all pediatric cardiac ultrasound imaging by using appropriate machine optimization, probe selection and patient positioning. * Utilize critical thinking skills and a segmental approach while imaging to produce diagnostic high-quality studies in normal to complex congenital heart defects. * Participate fully in call schedule including satellite areas. * Participate in biweekly educational echo conferences and clinical research studies. * Preceptor for students and fellows. * Participate in quality improvement activities. WORK EXPERIENCE * At least 1 year job related experience Req * At least 2 years job related experience Pref * Research experience Pref EDUCATION * Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Echocardiography Req * Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Pref LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS * Certified in Pediatric Echo by ARDMS or CCI (ARDMS is preferred over CCI) Req * Certified in one (1) of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular Pref * Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Req About us Childrens Health values the role each member of our team plays in helping us make life better for children.
