Job Description: UPMC offers a $6,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment for new hires.\n Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This position will work Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at West shore Hospital or Community Osteopathic as scheduled.\n Eligible participants must have a minimum of 6 months of experience and work 48 weekends per year, 24 hours per weekend (either two 12-hour or three 8-hour shifts per weekend), between the hours of Friday at 3 p.m. and Monday at 7 a.m. A 15% incentive will be added to their hourly rate. Weekend program benefits (medical benefits, paid short-term and long-term disability, tuition reimbursement, PTO accrual) offered as for full-time staff.\n Responsibilities:\n\nDemonstrates a willingness to learn new skills and a willingness to educate others in their areas of expertise. Serves as a resource for new hires and students.\nAssists physicians with invasive procedures as necessary and adheres strictly to the universal protocol standards.\nUtilizes appropriate ultrasound instrumentation for procedures and demonstrates knowledge of equipment operations, applications and scanning techniques resulting in optimized image data/documentation. Completes procedures according to protocol.\nWorks as team member within assigned departments to expedite patient care efficiently by demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills. Effectively communicate with physicians, co-workers, managers, and patients in assigned sites and/or departments.\nEnsures all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.\nPerforms a variety of technical ultrasound procedures, correlating appropriate patient history, laboratory data, and physical findings, for the purpose of assisting in a patients' medical diagnosis under the direct supervision of a physician.\n\nCompletion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.\n6 months of experience working as a Sonographer.\n\n When rotating between two specialties, must hold registry in each specialty.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:RDMS Registered with a secondary RDMS registry required. Must maintain 2 imaging registries/certifications and maintain competency in all as required by hiring Business Unit. \n Must be willing and demonstrate flexibility to be assigned to any of the maintained registries by leadership. Must provide flexibility to work at least one off-shift (evening, nights or weekend), every 90 days as requested by imaging leadership.\n CPR or BLS preferred.
