Job Description:

Job Summary: The Strategic Sourcing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of the automotive industry, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct negotiations, and establish long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment of sourcing strategies with product development and production needs.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews, contract management, and issue resolution.
  • Lead and mentor a team of sourcing professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities.
  • Prepare and present reports on sourcing performance, cost savings, and other key metrics to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the automotive industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving cost savings and improving supplier performance.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Experience with sourcing software and tools.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
