The Dandy Hospitality Group is based in the Nomad area of Manhattan and is focused on creating high quality cocktail and culinary destinations that are approachable, fun and satisfying. We are laser-focused on building neighborhood-driven experiences that are welcoming and act as an extension of the residents living room - a hub for entertainment, hosting, imbibing, meeting and hanging.

The Ivory Peacock is looking for a Sous Chef to work alongside the Executive Chef to oversee all of the Ivory Peacock's culinary operations.

The Ivory Peacock is a 8,000 square foot cocktail-driven bar and restaurant with small plates that are Japanese & French inspired menu with a beautiful raw bar program, a tasting menu experience and rich, familiar flavors from both France and Japan formulated from seasonal ingredients and the freshest produce - all that pair perfectly an extensive spirits collection. The two-level space features a social club lounge below that will operate as a post-dinner destination below the primary bar and dining experience.

We are looking for a talented, personable and motivated Executive Sous Chef to lead the opening culinary team working hand-in-hand with the Executive Chef on the creative conception and actualization of our growing culinary operation.Opportunity Details, as follows:
  • The Ivory Peaock is opening in NoMad and we are looking for an Sous Chef to lead our opening.
  • Our new restaurant will be creatively driven and confluent.
  • It will serve lunch and dinner, as well as offer tasting menu experiences
  • The new Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to set the creative direction of the menus.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Minimum 5 Years Combined Comparable Experience Working In High Volume/Fine Dining Kitchens
  • 2+ Years In A Kitchen Management Position
  • Preferred Culinary Education from an accredited 2 year institution, not required
  • English fluency and Spanish preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in all standard inventory, POS systems, Microsoft office, computers
  • Possess all New York mandated food safety certifications
  • Experience in managing and maintaining all DOH food safety standards, requirements, policies and systems to adhere to them
  • Experience in following all NYS labor responsibilities, laws, requirements, regulations and policies

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to bend and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion, movement and navigation throughout a bilevel venue
  • Exposure to hot kitchen elements, raw foods, and/or cleaning materials.
  • Must be able to remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends and holidays
