Description
- Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle to assure safety and road worthiness
- Prepare shipping papers, invoices and/or receipts for loads to be delivered/returned
- Drive truck to destination and perform loading/unloading of delivery as necessary using a hand truck
- Collect payment for goods when necessary
- Properly secure glass-based cargo during transit
- Maintain cell phone and text contact with supervisor
- Work outdoors in extreme weather (heat, cold, snow, and rain)
Physical Demands
- Must regularly stoop, bend, reach, crouch and balance
- Must frequently walk, sit, and stand
- Must regularly and repeatedly lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Push/pull up to 250 lbs. utilizing hand truck and/or pallet jack
- These duties involve 20 - 40 customer deliveries per day with daily aggregate weights of over 15,000 lbs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A or B, from the state of residence.
- (3) years related experience and/or training
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED
- Good interpersonal skills (i.e., customer relations)
- Must be insurable by the employer's motor vehicle liability carrier
- Must follow safe work practices and procedures
Hours: Tuesday - Friday (typical); Mondays and overtime as required.
