Job Description: Clinical Nurse Manager - Operating RoomWho We Are:SNHMC has nine operating room suites, 25 pre-op/PACU bays, and a sterile processing department. Hours are flexible, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour day shifts available. The OR has a dedicated call team Sunday through Thursday nights beginning at 7PM, making OR call minimal. Services range from elective and non-elective procedures, including neurological, orthopedic, gynecological, urological, bariatric, colorectal, vascular, ENT, general, breast, and plastics. Surgical services are growing and evolving, utilizing the latest technology for the wide variety of procedures we perform. The OR also offers Periop-101 and advancements.
About the Job:In collaboration with the Director, the Clinical Nurse Manager assists in providing 24 hour/7 days coverage for managing the operations of the unit. The Clinical Nurse Manager assists with the oversight of professional nursing practice to achieve safe, quality patient care as defined by the strategic goals of the medical center. This role serves as a transformational leader and maintains current knowledge to coordinate the delivery of care to the specific patient populations cared for in Surgical Services. This role effectively manages within a complex environment through collaboration by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies. This manager serves as a role model and promotes adaptation to change and a positive work environment.
What You'll Do:- Communicates effectively in a mature and respectful manner with employees, patients / family members and other healthcare disciplines to promote a positive work environment.
- Maintains confidentiality of reported and recorded information related to department flow, personnel considerations, patient complaints and events to ensure privacy.
- Maintains unit-based compliance with organizational, professional, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with the Director to implement strategies for areas identified as opportunities for improvement according to patient satisfaction scores.
- Collaborates with perioperative leadership and clinical educators to develop, implement, and monitor departmental educational programs.
- Collaborates with the Director and Human Resource partner to assist in the management of all aspects of personnel hiring, disciplinary action, and terminations.
Who You Are: - Graduate of accredited school of nursing. (Baccalaureate degree in nursing)
- Current NH or Compact licensure as Registered Nurse.
- Minimum three years of recent clinical experience in OR surgical setting.
- Maintains professional and regulatory knowledge to evaluate effectiveness of care delivery.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, leadership, and mentoring skills.
