In this role, you will perform basic preventative maintenance along with basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs at our company owned or leased facility. Enjoy our progressive operations including electronic sow feeding (ESF), world class housing facilities and animal welfare programs. You will report to the Sow Farm Manager and will be a vital component of keeping our barns operating efficiently. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot and solve basic mechanical & electrical problems (Including but not limited to repairs to Electronic Sow Systems, plumbing systems, ventilation system, farm/environmental controls and heating lamps)
- Attend/ Successfully complete all required trainings
- Maintain farm lanes (filling pot hole, grading with rear blade)
- Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE
- Understand and use lock out/tag out procedures
- Maintain spare parts needed at farm along with all tools
- Be available for any emergency repairs
- Maintain tractor, brush hog, riding mower, bucket & rear blade
- Complete repair request forms for outside contactor needs
- Other duties could include pressure washing as assigned.
- Completion of the step 1 of the Animal Care Specialist Plan.
- Successful completion of the Maintenance Step Plan.
- Answering alarm calls on off hours
- Perform maintenance related administrative duties
- Other possible duties could include snow plowing, grass cutting, composting, weed trimming along with spraying weed deterrents, pressure washing, loading/inspecting trucks, handling animals and other assigned task by production.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- You have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 years of maintenance experience, or equivalent maintenance experience.
- You are multi-task oriented and a team player.
- You have prior electrical and welding experience (Highly desired)
- You pose a valid driver's license
- You can lift at least 50 lbs and push at least 100 lbs
- You are able to work in inclement weather conditions
- You are able to tolerate a barn environment, which may include animal dander, manure, dust, blood, odors and frequently noisy conditions.
- You are available to work Monday thru Friday, with some weekends and holiday work required.
