Job Description:

Montauk Yacht Club is seeking a Spa/Wellness Manager to join the team at our 107-room luxury property located within the iconic Hamptons in New York. Spanning 35 acres on Montauk s Star Island, Montauk Yacht Club offers waterfront views, a private beach, three pools, multiple dining options and over 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats from small day cruisers to 300-foot superyachts. Holding eight decades of East End history as an elite social club and thoughtfully reborn for the modern traveler, guests can expect classic East Coast architecture, well-appointed interiors and detail-driven amenities.

The Spa/Wellness Manager will report directly to the Director of Spa, and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the spa and fitness facilities. This key role will ensure that all spa services and facilities are provided to guests in a professional and efficient manner, and that guest satisfaction is consistently maintained. The Wellness Manager will manage and lead the spa team as well as set and meet financial targets, while maintaining professional relations with vendors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the spa operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory, equipment maintenance and facility upkeep
  • Ensure that all guests receive efficient, friendly and personalized service
  • Address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionall
  • Plan and develop promotional sales and marketing strategies to maximize all revenue opportunities for the department
  • Collaborate with Spa Director to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with Montauk Yacht Club's overall goals and objectives
  • Manage and lead a team of spa service providers, including massage therapists, estheticians and other support staff
  • Manage recruitment, training and development of colleagues to ensure that they maintain standard of excellence in professional image and service
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any performance issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Develop and maintain relationships with guests to encourage repeat business, positive-word-of-mouth referrals and improve products and service
  • Plan and execute spa team meetings and training sessions, ensuring 100% attendance
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to increase revenues while working with operating expenses, annual budget and forecasts
  • Oversee inventory management and purchasing, as well as monitoring and adjusting staffing levels, spa service appointments and operational expenses, to maximize spa profitability
  • Order and maintain accurate inventory for cleaning, guest and office supplies

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Wellness and Spa management required; luxury hotel experience preferred
  • Exhibits strong leadership and interpersonal skills; must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of colleagues and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) and other relevant software
  • Willing and able to operate with a flexible schedule; shift duties could include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting or lifting
  • Constant need to stand for long periods of time
  • Lifting/carrying up to 10+ pounds frequently and 25 pounds occasionally

Education: Bachelor s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
