Description:PolyCon Solutions is seeking a Space Planner/Interior Design expert to support our Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) client. The candidate must provide detailed drawing and design support for interior space management, including design activities for interior spaces, structures, and facilities. The Contractor must utilize basic principles of building layouts, construction, and mechanical systems to assess and plan space solutions within practical limitations. Duties:
  • Utilize current industry advances in planning and design theories in the execution of space design support.
  • Utilize basic building construction principles and mechanical systems to assess and plan space solutions within practical limitations. This includes systems such as heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, building fire protection, life safety, and security codes and standards.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (e.g., AutoCAD, Archibus, MicroStation, ProjectWise) to develop various graphic representations of space designs, facilities, and office layouts.
  • Develop 2D and 3D renderings using architectural and engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical data, as required.
  • Conduct survey activities to support developing and sustaining critical infrastructure and Capital Investment Plan (CIP) projects.
  • Assist with systems furniture and components layout and coordinate installation and inspection techniques for various manufacturers, including Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR).
  • Support development of space requirements, workstation requirements, space characteristics, furniture selection, and construction from both a functional (acoustics, power and lighting, communications [e.g., voice, data]) and aesthetic (e.g., color, materials) approach.
  • Support creating and maintaining engineering baselines, redlines, and as-built drawing packages.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory list of furniture allocated to each project, which can be used to replenish failed items.
  • Perform site inspections and provide a preliminary inspection report/punch list that captures relevant site conditions for issue resolution and disposition.
  • Provide a final site inspection report/punch list that captures all outstanding issue resolutions in preparation for final occupancy.
Required Qualifications:
  • Solid interpersonal skills (oral & written)
  • Ability to handle multi-tasking priorities and strong self-motivation skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Proficiency in CAD/AutoCAD or similar design software.
Desired Skills:
  • FAA experience
Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT management, or another IT degree is required.
  • Engineering, math, and science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees.
  • 3+ years of relevant space planning, interior design, or architecture analysis experience.
Travel:
  • 0-10%
