Salary Grade: Educational Grade 5 | EG-5

Position Summary: The Special Education Academic Partner, in collaboration with the Special Education Directors and other members of Teaching and Learning, is responsible for delivering within their network Specially Designed Instruction which includes high-quality instructional resources, enhancing classroom practices, and tiered levels of support programs to increase Tulsa Public Schools students' achievement and to prepare all students for success in college, career, and life. The Special Education Academic Partner works with their Instructional Leadership Director within an assigned network of schools to ensure IDEA policies and procedures are implemented to meet the needs of each individual student on an IEP.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:• Bachelor's degree• Master's degree (preferred)
  • Experience:• Three (3) years successful experience working with students in special education• Successful administrative experience (preferred)
  • Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:• Knowledge of federal and state law, state and local Board of Education policies in special education• Knowledge of the education and services of students with special needs as well as the importance of an individualized educational plan for each eligible student. Knowledge and understanding of curricular frameworks, pedagogy, lesson planning, standards analysis, and quality classroom materials• Deep knowledge of special education, specially designed instruction, learning, and assessment• Familiarity with Oklahoma's state standards• Knowledge of effective teaching and learning practices to support multilingual learners and students with disabilities highly preferred• Possess or ability to obtain an Oklahoma Teacher certification in Special Education• Oklahoma Administrator certification preferred• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
