PRIMARY PURPOSE: Help meet the physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Work under the general supervision of the principal and immediate direction of a certified teacher. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist the assigned teacher in general, supportive, and specialized instructional classroom services in designated settings. Assist teacher in instructional media preparation and usage. Duplicate instructional materials for teachers. Be willing to attend training as needed. Have regular attendance. Assist students, when necessary, in classroom settings outside the classroom. Assist with the physical needs of individual students and/or implement behavior plans. Maintain confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned. NOTE: Not all applicants will be interviewed. - 48 college hours with some emphasis on child growth or development or related area

Valid Texas educational aide certificate Special Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills Must perform duties with a minimum supervision Ability to communicate EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals, standard instructional equipment WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions.
