Called by President Obama one of the most successful anti-poverty programs in history, we are sharing what we have learned with communities around the country and the world, inspiring widespread replication and changing the lives of millions beyond Harlem.Three-Year-Old Journey ( is a 12-week workshop series hosted on Saturdays, for HCZ Promise Academy Charter Schools lottery winners, community members, parents, and caregivers of children three years old. The primary goal is to learn, grow, and nurture friendships in the lead-up to their admission to the school. Participants explore developmental milestones, discipline techniques, and developmentally appropriate activities to foster early literacy and math skillsMinimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in special early childhood development with at least two years of teaching experience.
  • New York State Certification Early Childhood or K-12
Who you are
  • Excellent communication and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks independently
  • Experience working with parent and community groups
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
  • Open to working with a diverse population of families, parents/caregivers, and children within the community
  • Bachelor's degree in special education
  • Minimum of 1 year working with children with special needs
  • Teacher's license
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
What you'll do
  • Design and implement a structured intervention program for the TYOJ participants.
  • Identifies and assess a child's unique needs based on observation and analyzing standardize test (Brigance)
  • Collaborates with parents, and relevant persons to create and implement individualized learning plans
  • Maintains and analyzes each student's behavioral records
  • Reviews, monitors and meets timelines for IEPs, referrals, initial eligibilities, and re-evaluations
  • Performs consultations with relevant parties to address child's special educational, behavioral, and social needs
  • Manage student intervention caseloads.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and IEP development; write goals and objectives for students entering the program
  • Facilitate curriculum design for TYOJ participants
  • Observe tutoring sessions and meet with staff and parent to provide feedback
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule
  • Saturday: 8 AM - 4 PM (Mandatory)
  • A one-day remote planning session is required from 5 PM - 7 PM via Zoom. This planning session can be scheduled any day between Tuesday and Friday, depending on the entire team's availability.
